2012: Another New Year
According to the dictionary there are several definitions for the word, “resolution,” such as:
1. a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.
2. the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc.
3. the mental state or quality of being resolved or resolute; firmness of purpose.
4. the act or process of resolving or separating into constituent or elementary parts.
So why is January the month when most of us resolve, or determine, that we are ready to turn over a new leaf? When the calendar changes we resolve that we are going to better our lives. Whether we choose to lose weight or quit smoking, it is a New Year and time for a fresh start. The New Year is the time we anticipate improving our lives through our reinvigorated efforts.
If you know that your marriage isn’t working…perhaps you’ve already tried counseling…and you know you current partnership isn’t going to last, then you should resolve to begin the process to creating a more positive life for yourself. If you know that you must get a divorce, then the best thing you can do for yourself and your family is to accomplish, “the act or process of resolving or separating into constituent or elementary parts,” the smoothest way possible.
Be respectful of each other. Treat each other in a civilized manner.
