Divorce Made Straightforward
Our process is designed to make mediation as simple, efficient, and stress-free as possible.
How NHDM Divorce Mediation Works
The NHDM process begins with both participants sharing relevant financial information and any preliminary agreements with each other and the mediator. Sessions are then structured around the specific issues each couple needs to resolve, including parenting schedules, property division, financial responsibilities, and communication planning. The mediator facilitates every conversation, helping both participants express their priorities, consider their options, and work through challenges step by step. The pace is always set by the participants themselves. Once all terms are agreed upon, the mediator prepares your Marital Settlement Agreement and Custody Stipulation for review and approval. After you sign your Agreements, we will assist you in moving forward with the pro se filing process with the Court so you can obtain your Divorce Decree. All sessions are confidential and available in person or online.
Why Participants in Morrisville Choose New Hope Divorce Mediation
For families in Morrisville with children, mediation offers a process built specifically around cooperation and productive communication rather than courtroom conflict. When parents work through their separation collaboratively, they build the foundation for a co-parenting relationship that benefits their children for years to come. Because mediation replaces adversarial proceedings with structured conversation, children are shielded from the stress and prolonged disruption that contested litigation creates. The process also resolves far more quickly than court proceedings, typically in a matter of months, and costs a fraction of a litigated divorce. Both participants remain in control of every decision, and scheduling is flexible throughout.
What to Expect from New Hope Divorce Mediation
Our mediators create a safe space where both participants can speak openly, ask questions, and work through difficult topics without pressure or judgment. We do not advocate for either party, take sides, or offer legal advice. We provide relevant information, help clarify complicated topics, and ensure that both participants have a full opportunity to be heard throughout the process. With extensive experience helping families across Bucks County, our team understands that clarity, patience, and steady pacing are essential at every stage of mediation.

What are the benefits of divorce mediation over litigation?
In mediation, you retain control over your divorce process and the agreements you reach. Because you communicate directly with each other instead of through lawyers, mediation is significantly less expensive and much faster than litigation. Mediation also brings priceless benefits to your children and each other by reducing conflict so you may focus on your needs and the best interests of your children. Mediation supports cooperative communication and offers you flexible meeting times in consideration of your work schedule and keeps you in control of the pace. Mediation offers you the opportunity to craft a unique agreement tailored to your specific circumstances and gives you a private process that avoids public disclosure of your financial and personal matters.
How do divorce court documents get filed?
For our mediation participants in Pennsylvania, we will draft the documents you will need to file with the Court, including your Divorce Complaint, Acceptance of Service, the final Marital Settlement Agreement, Decree, and accompanying documents. We will then assist you in your filing of these documents through the court’s pro se filing process. Before you sign or file any documents with the court, we will again encourage you to seek legal advice and representation from an independent attorney of your choosing. For our mediation participants in New Jersey, we will provide you with the information you need to decide how you will complete your divorce filing process, as well as referrals to local attorneys who can efficiently assist you in this process if you wish.
Should I also retain a lawyer during mediation?
You are always welcome to retain outside counsel before, during and/or after the divorce mediation process has begun. Neither party may bring an attorney into the mediation sessions, but a well-informed participant is always a good thing. At one point in the divorce mediation process, your attorney-mediator will draft your Marital Settlement Agreement and invite you to have separate lawyers review it before you sign. During your divorce mediation process, your attorney-mediator may provide legal information but is not permitted to provide legal advice or representation.
Must we be in the same room, or can our mediator act as a go-between?
There are different models of mediation. Some mediators will meet with each participant in separate rooms, a process called caucusing. In the model of mediation we practice at NHDM, both parties are always in the same room (in person or virtually) for substantive discussion. This builds trust and rapport, giving both participants comfort in knowing that nothing will occur behind their backs.
